A FRACTURED THIGH (Per United Press Association.) WHAKATANE August 27. A motor accident at Whakatane on Saturday night resulted in Tom Black, of Opotiki, being admitted to the Whakatane Hospital with a fractured thigh. He stopped his car on the Domain- road to mend a puncture when another car coming in the same direction knocked him over. • DEATH FROM INJURIES (Pee United Press Association) ROTORUA. August 27. Ronald lies, single, aged 26, who had his skull fractured when the motor car in which he was a passenger struck a stationary lorry on Friday evening, died in hospital on Sunday afternoon. BOY KILLED' BY CAR (Per United Press Association*) CHRISTCHURCH, August 27. William John Alister M‘Caw, aged three 3 r ears, and eight months, a son of Mr George K. M'Caw, of 125 Breeze’s road, was struck by a .motor car at the corner of Breeze’s and Page’s roads this afternoon. He died on the way to the hospital. The boy was runnincj across the road when he was struck by the car. WOUND IN THE THROAT (Per United Press Assc.ciation.) GREYMOUTH, August 27. Mrs Ismay Anderson, of Ahaura, was admitted to the Grey Hospital yesterday with a wound in her throat. Sho_ underwent an operation, and her condition is satisfactory. YOUNG BOY INJURED Frank Watts, a boy 11 years of age, livinrr at 70 Kaikorai Valley road, was admitted to the Hospital at'7.3o pan. yesterday with a cut over the left eye and concussion. He was sliding on some ice on the Kaikorai Valley road when he fell heavily, receiving the injuries mentioned. I ‘
