SENIA CHIOSTAKOFF
At a concert to be held in the low Hall to-morrow evening, Senia Chiostakolf, the famous Russian tenor, will sing, in addition to solo numbers, several Russian folk-songs, including the popular “ Song of the Volga Boatmen,” “ Evening Bells, and “The Road to St. Petersburg." Hi these items Cliiostako/T will be assisted by the Returned Soldiers’ Choir, the chorus simulating the harmony effected by the Don Cossacks. At similar concerts in Wellington and Christchurch, Chiostaknff created’ a sensation and captured his audiences by bis excellent singing and charm of manner. He has been asked to pay a return visit to each of those cities. Raul Vinognidoff, fatuous Russian pianist, will also assist, and there will bo a full orchestra under Mons dc Rose, and an outstanding supporting programme arranged by the broadcasting Board. The proceeds of the concert will go to the Mayor’s Fund for the Relief of Distress.
