RUGBY LEAGUE
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the executive of the Otago Rugby League was held last evening, the' president (Mr W. Holloway) presiding. Some discussion took place regarding the North v. South Island match, and it was decided to write to the New Zealand Council submitting the names of several players whom the selector considered to be worthy of representative honours. It was also decided to suggest that the three South Island selectors should meet before the final choice of a team was made.
A letter was received from the see* retary of the Inangahua Rugby League Sub-centre (Reefton) stating that the centre desired to send an Inangahua re j preventative team to Dunedin before the season closed to play a match against an Otago team. The Otago Executive was asked if it approved of such a visit and if so what financial assistance could be offered in the way of a guarantee.—The opinion was expressed that the visit would involve the Otago League in unjustified expense, . and it was decided to reply that the executive could not avail itself of the offer of a visit.
SATURDAY'S MATCHES. . ; The following is the draw for Saturday (Maxwell Cup Competition):— Pacific v. Athletic, at 1.30 p.m. {Mr W. Watts): City v. Christian Brothers, at 3 p.m. (Mr A. Eckhoff).
