RUGBY The senior flag competition is rapidly drawing to a close, but the remaining matches will still have considerable bearin" on the premiership. The chief attraction to-day will be the match at Carisbrook between University A and Kaikorai. This usually provides one of the best games of the season. Kaikorai of late years have always staged their best games against the University. In the first round University won by the narrow margin of 11 points to 0, and a keenly-contested game is being looked forward to to-day. the local competition matches, while the Christ’s College team has also put up a good allowing in the Christchurch competition. Both teams play bright, attractive football, and the public can look forward to seeing a stirring game between these two school teams. ASSOCIATION The principal match in the Fletcher Cup competition will be the meeting of the two Old Boys’ teams, High School and Technical, which will take place on the Caledonian Ground this afternoon. Both teams, which are on equal terms in the competition, have youth and speed on their side, and the play should be fast and interesting. The third division teams, Mornington and Caversham, will provide the curtain-raiser at 1.15. This competition is being closely contested this season. The other senior matches are Northern v.
