NOVEMBER-DECEM-BER, 1934. IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED that the usual Junior and Senior Public Service Entrance Examinations for ShorthandTypists will be held on NOVEMBER 17, In addition, it is proposed to hold the following examinations in the four main centres on DECEMBER 1: — Intermediate Examination: Shorthand, 130 words a minute; typewriting, 50 words a minute. Special Examination: Shorthand, 150 words a minute; typewriting, 50 words a minute. If sufficient candidates offer, an examination for the purposes of the Shorthand Reporters Act, 1908, will also be conducted in conjunction with the Intermediate and Special Examinations. This examination requires a speed of from 150 to 180 words a minute in shorthand, with not more than 1 per cent, of error in transcript. The fee for this examination is £2 2s, and applications must also be accompanied by evidence that applicant has attained the age of 21 years and at least two testimonials as to character. Applications CLOSE OCTOBER 18, 1934, but late applications will be received up to NOVEMBER 1 if accompanied by a late fee of 2s 6d in addition to the usual entrance fee of 5s for the Junior and 10s fop the Senior Examination; and a late fee of 5s in addition to the usual entrance fee of 15s for the Intermediate and £1 for the Special Examination.
