MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

OTAGO ASSOCIATION. The miniature rifle shooting season has now passed the halfway mark, and a review of the positions of the teams and also the individual competitors in the championships reveals some uncertainty in both cases which bids fair to maintain the keen interest which has been evident during the period which has passed. In the teams’ matches the Barnett representatives asserted their superiority in both A and B Grades, with Railway teams in both grades in close attendance. In the B Grade the Citizens’ team is likely to be near the top of the championship table. Citizens, on a recent evening, created a new record for B Grade teams, with the score of 544 points. The D.S.A. Club has found it necessary to withdraw its No. 2 team at this stage of the season. In the individual championship there have been minor changes, but the leaders have maintained their positions, Gillick being lop of the A Grade, and Bowie of the B Grade ■ The tabulated list of positions to date is as follows: — •
