SHIPPING DISPUTE
KAIMAI FAILS TO OBTAIN CREW _____ | NO RESPONSE FROM SEAMEN OR FIREMEN. (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 21. ! The Union Company's cargo steamer Kaimai, one of the vessels affected by the dispute between the company and the Cooks and Stewards' Union, was to have been rccommissiorted at Wellington to-day. It is understood, however, that she was unable to ; obtain a crew, no seamen or firemen coming forward to man her. The Kaimai is now scheduled to leave Wellington to-morrow for Lyttelton. Meetings of the Seamen's and Firemen's Union were held on Wednesday and to-day, and it is understood that a further meeting has been called for tomorrow.
