THE NELSON RETORT
Wheu Sir Hilton Young, the present British Minister of Health, who lost his right arm in the raid on Zccbrugge, applied for a post at the Admiralty, he M-as met with the rebuff: "There i s no room here for a one-armed man! " "Well, come with me to Trafalgar square, and I will show you a one-armed man who did great things for England! " he replied. This smart repartee was successful. "If you are another. Nelson we will take you on! " he was told, and he was taken on. The story was related by Lord Riddel! at the annual meeting of the Royal Free Hospital.
