POSING AS CHEMIST
WOMAN DEFRAUDED OF MONEY ACCUSED REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 20. How a man who posed as a chemist defrauded, a woman of £2O was related in' the Police Court when Peter Bryce Cunningham, aged 33, a labourer, pleaded guilty to a charge of false pretences. The accused was remanded in custody until to-morrow, so that a report could be made by the probation.officer. The accused was charged that, with intent to defraud, he obtained . from Dorothy Willis £2O by falsely representing that he was employed in the dispensary at Sunnyside Mental Hospital and was being financed into business by Dr MTvillop, and that he wag in receipt of a war pension.,Dr,MTvillop said the man had no connection with the hospital and 1 there was no truth in his statements.
