COLLISION AT SEA
FIVE MEN LOST SCHOONER’S CURIOUS BEHAVIOUR. ST. JOHN’S (Newfoundland), June 10. (Received June 11, at 9.50 p.m.) Five Newfoundland seamen went to their deaths to-day aboard the trading schooner Elbe Collett, which sank oil: Tor Bay after being rammed by the s.s. Silver City. There is no explanation why the little craft sailed on after the crash under full sail with the Silver City following until suddenly the schooner disappeared.
