BALMACEWAN BOWLING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Balmacewen Bowling Club was held in the club’s pavilion on Saturday Air J. Melville being ih the chair. There was a fair attendance of members. Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the chairman said that the club .«as distinctly fortunate in the qualifications of its new members'both as players and as social assets to the club. The club had done well in club matches, especially in the Adess’ Shield competition, which hdd been won by Messrs Ferguson, Buchan, Omand and A vent. The chairman pain a tribute to the wives of the members, who had been only too willing to give every assistance they could, in the activities of the, club, special reference being made to the croquet ladies. In Mr Leslie the club had an ideal secretary and to him was owed a deep debt of gratitude for the very efficient 'work, he had done during the year. The motion was seconded by Mr J. Nisbet and carried. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.
The, following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year Vice-pres-ident. Mr J- M’Donald: secretary. Mr D. Leslie; Bowling Committee—Messrs V. Smith, H. Wilson, J. Melyille. and E. Rackley; Selection Committee —Messrs T. Ferguson. F. Lambeth, and J. Melville; Club Tie Committee. Messrs E. Rackley and A. W. Macdonald: Green Committee. Messrs T. Ferguson and F. Lambeth: delegates to the Otago Bowling Centre, Messrs j; M'Donald and W. Morrison. The chairman distributed the pmes won during the year, as follo-ws pion Singles. F. Lambeth; Handican Singles. R. Watson 1. J. Glover. 2: Club Doubles. J. Buchan and T. McClelland; Champion Doubles, J. Buchan and D. Bennie 1, J. Nisbet and R. Watson 2; Rinks—R. Glover. I. Kinaston, J., Hur-ra-way, and T. Hindle.
