Oplhl Is due here this morning from Wellington, and will sail this afternoon for Oamartt, Tlmaru and Lyttelton to complete loading for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. Holmdalc, which is due at Dunedin to-day from Wellington, Is limed to sail to-night for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui, via ports. Storm Is due hero to-day from Wellington, and will sail this evening for Tlmaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. CAMBRIDGE LOADING. The Federal Lino steamer Cambridge is expected to leave Port Chalmers to-day for Tlmaru, Wanganui, Wellington, and Auckland to complete loading. The vessel is to clear Auckland Anally on June 28 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via the Panama canal. CANADIAN SCOTTISH DELATED. Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co. advise that the Canadian Scottish, from Halifax, has been delayed at Melbourne. The vessel is now due at Bluff on Juno 18 and at Dunedin on Juno 19 to discharge Canadian cargo and load products. She will complete discharge and loading at Lyttelton, and will sail from that port about June 22 for New York, Boston, and Montreal. TRANSHIPMENT CARGO. Transhipments ex the Japanese motor ship Melbourne Marti, from Japan, reached Dunedin on Friday by the Waimarlno. Messrs Neill and Co. advise that transhipment cargo cx the Talping from Hongkojig will reach Dunedin about the end of this week by the Walkoualti. lONIC LEAVES BALBOA. The Shaw, Savlll Company has received cabled advice that the liner lonic, on route from London and Southampton, cleared Balboa on June 5 for Wellington and Auckland. She Is due at Wellington on Juno 27. ORARI FROM LIVERPOOL. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor ship Orari arrived at Auckland on Saturday from Liverpool. In addition to explosives, which will bo unloaded at the Motuihl anchorage, the vessel has general merchandise from West coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. RUAHINE FROM ENGLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahlne Is due at Auckland on Wednesday morning from London, The vessel has passengers and mall for New Zealand and cargo for .discharge at Auckland and Wellington. After discharge the Ruahlne will load at Bluff, Gisborne and Auckland. She Is scheduled to clear Auckland for London, via Panama, on July 14. PORT FAIRY TO LEAVE LONDON. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Fairy Is scheduled to leave London on June 20 for Suva, Dunedin, Lyttelton and Oamaru. AN ISLAND CRUISE. ' H.M.S. Laburnum was to leave Auckland on June 8 on a cruise to the South Sea Islands. The cruise will last three months and the sloop Is due back at Auckland in September. AKAROA AT SOUTHAMPTON. The Akaroa, which left Wellington on May 2 for Southampton and London, arrived at Southampton on the morning of June 6. SULPHUR FROM ITALY. The British steamer Flscus, 4815 tons. Is now cn route from Italy to New Zealand ports with a cargo of sulphur. The vessel sailed from Gibraltar on May 22. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr R. L. Smith has been appointed second engineer of the Rangatira, relieving Mr Graham. Mr P. J. Kilkelly has joined the Karetu as assistant purser. He will go to Rarotonga and remain there during the fruit season. NOTABLE CONTRACT COMPLETED. Messrs Workman Clark (1928), Limited, recently completed a notable contract when they delivered the Ellerman liner City of Wellington to her owners, after successful trials. She is the last of the six vessels sent to Belfast to be converted to the exhaust turboelectric combination typo of machinery, which was originally Introduced with successful results by the same firm into the City of Hongkong five years ago. The contract has been carried out In less than 12 months, and the four vessel's already back In service have given satisfactory results In the matter of Increased power and lower fuel consumption. The electrical equipment for ail six ships was provided by Metropolitan Vickers, but the Installation work was carried out at Belfast by Messrs Workman Clark.
