Mackley has been appointed second engineer of the Walmarlno, relieving Mr R. G. Houghton. The Gabriella was to leave Newcastle on Thursday for Sydney to complete loading for Wanganul and Greymouth. Tho Kalmlro was to leave Greymouth yesterday for Melbourne, thence to Edithburg, Adelaide and Melbourne to load for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Westport and Gt^ymouth. The New Zealand Shipping Compa'ny advises that the Norfolk, which left Lyttelton on April 30 for London and Hook of Holland, via the Panama canal, is now proceeding to Hook of Holland before London. COASTWISE MOVEMENTS. Galo, which arrived here yesterday afternoon from Wellington, sailed last night for Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton to complete loading for Wellington, Wanganui, and New Plymouth. Walmarlno, which arrived yesterday morning from' Auckland, via ports, sailed in the afternoon for Bluff. She will return to Dunedin to-morrow and sail on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. Opihi is to leave Wellington to-day for Dun"edin. She Is due on Monday morning to load cargo and sail the same day for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth, via ports. John sailed yesterday for Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington to complete loading for Wanganui. New Plymouth, and Port Walkato. Holmdale is now due at Dunedin on Monday from Wellington, and is timed to sail the same day for Wellington, Picton and Wanganul, via ports. Breeze Is due at Dunedin on May 14 from Bluff to load and sail the same day for Wellington, Wanganul, and New Plymouth, via ports. WAIKOUAITI FROM AUSTRALIA. The Union Company advises that the Walkouaiti Is now expected to leave Sydney on Monday with cargo for discharge at Bluff, Dunedln, Timaru, and Lyttelton. She is due at Dunedin on June 17. • .. ■ AORANGI FROM VANCOUVER. The~ Union Company advises that the Royal Mall liner Aorangl was to leave Suva day morning In continuation of her from Vancouver to Auckland and Sydney. The vessel Is due at Auckland to-morrow, and she Is scheduled to sail for Sydney on Monday night. MAKURA'S DEPARTURE. The departure of the Makura from Wellington for San Francisco, which was originally set down for Tuesday next, has now been postponed until Wednesday. CANADIAN VICTOR SAILS. Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co. advise that' the Canadian Victor left Montreal on Slay 25 with Canadian cargo for discharge at Australian ports, Dunedln, and Lyttelton. She is due at Dunedln about July 24. MAKURA TO RESUME. The R.M.S. Makura went Into the Wellington Jubilee Dock on Wednesday morning for overhaul and survey prior to resuming her running next Tuesday. She will leave Wellington on that day for San Francisco in place of the Maunganul, which Is to arrive at the northern port on Monday from Sydney, and will then undergo survey and overhaul. NEW STEAMER WAITAKI. The Union Company's new steamer Waitaki. en route from Swansea .and' Safaga, passed Cape Leeuwin at noon on Tuesday. She is due at Edithburg.on June 11, and will clear Adelaide the following clay for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington. OrAWA LEAVES GLASGOW. The New Zealand Shipping Company's motor ship Opawa is reported to have cleared Glasgow on June 2 for Liverpool to complete loading for New Zealand. The vessel is scheduled to leave Liverpool to-day for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedln and New Plymouth. She Is duo at Auckland on July 18. SHEAF CROWN LEAVES BALBOA. Cabled advice lias been received by the C. and D. Line that the chartered steamer Sheaf Crown, en route from New York and Philadelphia, cleared Balboa on Juno 2 for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Melbourne. She is duo at Auckland on June 28.

THE TANKER MARIT. The tanker Marit arrived at Lyttelton on Thursday night from Balikpapan with fuel-oil for discharge to the agency of the Shell Oil Company. She Is due at Dunedin to-day. THE TANKER YARRAVILLE. The Vacuum Oil Company advises that the tanker Yarraville is due at Dunedin on Monday from San Francisco, via Wellington, to discharge bulk motor spirit. She will sail about Tuesday for Melbourne and Townsvlllc to complete discharge. THE CANADIAN CHALLENGER. The Canadian Challenger left Montreal on June 1 for Auckland, Wellington, and Australia. She is due at Auckland on July 10. PORT WELLINGTON REPORTED. The C. and D. Line has received cabled advice Uiat the Port Wellington, which left Wellington on May 15 for London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo, reached Montevideo on, June 2. THE CANADIAN HIGHLANDER. The Canadian Highlander, which left Lyttelton on May 2 for New York, Boston, and Montreal, cleared Colon on May 31. • lONIC CLEARED KINGSTON. *ln continuation of her voyage from London and Southampton to Wellington and Auckland the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner lonic is reported to have cleared Kingston, Jamaica, on June 3. She is due at Wellington on Juno 26. CARGO FROM THE EAST. The Union Company's chartered steamer Narbada is scheduled to load at Calcutta in July and she will complete loading at Penang, Singapore and Samarang for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. i , MATAKANA FROM "LONDON. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matakana is scheduled to leave London on June 13 for Auckland and Wellington. She Is due at on July 21. SHIPPING AT LYTTELTON. At Wednesday's meeting of the Lyttelton "Harbour Board, the harbour master reported that during the month 131 trading vessels, representing 182,910 tons, had used the port, compared with 99 vessels and 153,196 tons in May, 1933. ULIMAROA FOR JAPAN. The steamer Ulimaroa, which was formerly owned by Huddart, Parker, Ltd., and which has been sold to Japanese buyers, left Sydney on .May 23 for Japan, where she will be delivered to her new owners. She proceeded via Newcastle to bunker. The Ulimaroa was laid up at Sydney since January 9, 1933.
