HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE
"SALLY" The Dunedin. Operatic Society gave another presentation of " Sally" at His Majesty's Theatre last evening, when, as on the preceding nights, a packed audience witnessed a performance of this sparkling and melodious musical comedy that bordered closely on the professional. At the head of an unusually strong cast is Miss Daphne Murdoch, a vivacious and dainty little actress who dances and sings her way through a difficult part in a manrier c that wins her the instant approval of her hearers. The bulk of the comedy work lies on the capable shoulders of Mr Stan Lawson, whose clever foolery goes far towards ensuring the success of the production, and he is ably assisted by Mr Clarence Paine, who shows himself to be a comedian of more than ordinary merits He is also responsible, with Miss Tui Northey, for some clever duo dance numbers. Mr Jack Figgins, Mr Jack Clarke Mr W. Robinson, Mr Mason Harrould, Mr Dick White, Mr James M'Farlane, and Miss Mollie Randle are other players who acquit themselves" creditably. The choruses and ballets are all well done, the junior ballet being a particularly attractive feature. " Sally " will be presented for th,e last time tonight, and ther.e will bo a matinee performance this afternoon.
