The Union Company’s chartered steamer Narbada arrived at Dynedln yesterday from Eastern ports, via Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton, and was berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge general merchandise. The cargo was loaded at Calcutta, Rangoon, Penang, Singapore and Samarang. The vessel left Calcutta on April 3 and arrived at Auckland on' May 10. Captain W. W. Hender retains command of the Narbada. The Narbada is to sail to-morrow morning for Newcastle. Site will proceed thence to Java and Calcutta. THE ROTORUA. The New Zealand'Shipping Company states that the Rotorua, which left Wellington on May 19, has sent radio advice that the weather has been good and- that all on board are well. CAMBRIDGE AT AUCKLAND. The Federal Line steamer Cambridge arrived at Auckland last Saturday morning from Liverpool. The vessel has cargo ■ from . west coast ports of the United Kingdom, and will complete discharge at Wellington. Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. THE CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR. The Canadian Constructor, which left Lyttelton on April 14 for New York, Boston and Montreal, sailed from Colon bn May 9. TAIBOA LEAVES LIVERPOOL. Cabled advice received states that the Shaw, Savlll and Albion steamer Talroa left Liverpool on May 19 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin and Napier. She is duo at Auckland about July 8. and at Dunedin about July 20. SURREY LEAVES CURACAO. Cabled advice .has been received by the Federal Company that the Surrey; which left Bluff on April 20 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, cleared Curacao on May 16. The Chatham Islands steamer Tees, which left Lyttelton on April 30, was expected back in port in about eight days, but because of bad weather, the vessel was away from Lyttelton for 20 days. After loading 400 sheep for Lyttelton and 1400 cases of fish for Wellington, the vessel left the Chathams on Slay 16. and arrived at Lyttelton early on Sunday morning. She met a south-westerly storm early on the trip, and late on Friday night a nor’wester sprang up with heavy seas. Progress was slow, the average speed being three knots. On Friday the wind changed again to southwest, and on Saturday to west-nor’-west, and then calmed down. The vessel disembarked seven passengers, only two of whom were seen on deck during tho voyage. REFITTING OF WARSHIPS. In preparation for her annual Island cruise, H.M.S. Dunedin, flagship of Rear-admiral F. Burges Watson, went into dock at Auckland last Friday morning for a continuation of her relit, which has been proceeding at the Devonport naval base. H.M.S. Diomede, commanded by Captain Cosmo Graham, will follow the Dunedin Into dock on June 5. The Dunedin will leave Auckland for the Islands on June 15, the Diomede sailing on June 18. The Imperial sloop H.M.S. Labiirnum, commanded by Commander A. H. Maxvvell-Hyslop, has come out of dock. She will leave Auckland on her Island cruise on June 4. NEW AMERICAN SERVICE. All the operating details having been satisfactorily worked out, an agreement has now been concluded between the Panama Pacific Line and the Grace Line, which will make available a fast weekly service between New York and west coast ports, via Havana and the Panama canal, furnished by the great Intercoastal fleets of these two companies. The agreement also provides for the joint use of the International Mercantile Marino Company’s Chelsea piers; 61 and 62, at the foot of West 22nd street, for all departures from New York. The sailing of the Panama Pacific liner Pennsylvania from New York on May 3 Inaugurated the new joint service from this terminal under the terms of the agreement. The first Grace liner to sail under the agreement was the Santa Lucia on May 11. The three turbo-electric sister ships, Virginia, California, and Pennsylvania, will alternate In a weekly service with the four new Grace liners, Santa Lucia, Santa Paula, Santa Rosa, and Santa Elena.
