What the Moruington people ask for js not a compromise, but the fulfilment of a promise which involves a patent necessity. Adequate transit and transport facilities are overdue for the present population and also encouragement of further settlement in thig favourite and beautiful residential area. The foresight of the pioneers in securing reserves for the city which are a joy to the present generation as well as an asset to the city is much applauded, but where do we see the emulation of their excellent example in the Mornington area? Boon the more central corners wilT be secured for building sites and tire opportunity to earn the gratitude aud approval of this and of future generations will have passed, and these will never in later years'be available. It is time to do something now that is worth doing—work that will give satis, faction to the workers and to those who will benefit by the work that is done. — I am, etc., M. •!».
