Rattray, well known locally as a successful trainer of trotting horses, was entertained at a social on the eve of his departure for Gore, where he has decided to train in future. Yesterday Mr Rattray received a presentation from the sporting community. To-day the Puerua and other district streams were running very high as a result of recent rains. The weather, however, is now clearing. Mr R, Sinclair, a local canary fancier, was successful at the Invercargill Show, securing five prizes with six exhibits in the canary section.
