__ ■♦ CHARRED BODY IDENTIFIED. TWO ITALIANS ARRESTED. MELBOURNE, May 19. The man whose charred body was found at Balwyn has been identified as Rocco Petulla, aged 30, an Italian labourer. The police believe Petulla was choked during a quarrel and afterwards the body was taken from Richmond to Balwyn, where it was burned. Two young Italians were charged at midnight with having murdered Petulla. THE ACCUSED REMANDED. MELBOURNE. May 20. (Received May 20, at 8 p.m.) Antonio Chiodo, aged 20, and Antonio Audina, 19, who are charged with the murder of Rocco Petulla, were remanded until May 25. PRISONERS BREAK GAOL. RETURN AFTER STEALING. PERTH, May 19. Allegations were made. in court that three men • who were serving sentences of imprisonment in Bunbury gaol escaoed from the cells and stole a quantity of goods from a warehouse and , returned to gaol unnoticed. The men were charged with stealing goods worth £BO. As the cell in which the men had been placed was not damaged, the police are mystified as to how the escape was effected.
