PARTY POLITICS

PUBLIC BECOMING DISSATISFIED FARMERS URGE ABOLITION. (Per United Press Association.) STRATFORD, May 11. Strong criticism of party politics was voiced by Mr J. Cocker, president of the Eltham Farmers’ Union, at a meeting of the union held at Lowgarth. The criticism was drawn by a remark that the request of Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.P., for the inclusion of the mortgage question in the Dairy Commission’s order of reference had come from the wrong source. When propositions .were received from intelligent men who were on ■ the wrpng side, said Mr Cocker, no notice was taken. It was obvious that had the suggestion been made by a member of the Government it would have been heeded. Other speakers supported Mr Cocker, one saying 1 that people were tired of party politics and the wasted time the factions spent in contesting against each other. Party government would have to be washed out completely.
