Tuesday, Mat 8. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) DEFAULT CASES. Judgment was given for the plaintiffs in the following undefended cases:— Green Island Borough Council v. Gladys May Burt, claim £lB Os Bd, for rates, with costs (£2 14s);' J. R. Brown v. L. G. Clnlee Perrins (Christchurch), claim 14s 4d, for goods, with costs (8s); Brown, Ewing, and Co., Ltd., v. F. P. Dawson (Kurow), claim £2 19s Cd, for goods, with costs (£1 6s 6d) ; James Jersey Dairies v. A. E. Smithers, claim 6s Cd, for milk supplied, with costs (8s); Nathaniel Paterson v. G. R. M'Crae, claim £7, for rent, with costs (£1 10s Cd)'; Charles H. Tucker and Co., Ltd., v. R. W. Mackay, claim Ss, costs of court. DEFENDED CASES. James Jersey Dairies v. Francis Simpson.—Claim 10s 4d, for milk supplied.— Mr R. A. King appeared for the plaintiff. —The defendant contended that the money had been placed in the milk container and left overnight.—The plaintiff said he did.not receive the money. He had discussed the matter with the defendant and offered to accept half the amount, but the defendant would not agree.—Judgment was given for the plaintiff for 5s 2d, and costs (12s). The ease of Alice Budge against David Budge, claiming possession of furniture, etc., and damages for wrongful detention was concluded.—Mr Ward appeared for the plaintiff and Mr White for the defendant.—Mr Ward said that all the articles which the couit had ordered to he delivered had now been handed over with the exception of one ornament. —Mr White said Hie failure to hand over the ornament was probably ! due to a misunderstanding. It would be handed over within half an hourJudgment was given for the plaintiff for £2 12s Cd, the damages to be reducible to £2 if the article was handed over with 24 hours. The defendant was ordered to pay costs amounting to £7 14s 6d.
