APPOINTMENT OF GOVERNOR CALCUTTA, April 25. (Received April 26, at 0.15 a.m.) Sir H. G. Haig, home member of che Viceroy’s Executive Councils, has boon appointed Governor of the United Provinces in succession to Sir Malcolm Hailey, who will resign in December. Sir 11. D. Craik, a member of the Punjab Governor’s Executive Council, will succeed Sir, H. G. Haig.
