CLYDE NOTES

(From Our Own Correspondent.) CLYDE, April 21. The annual meeting of the Clyde Ladies' Hockey Club was held in the Town Hull on Thursday evening, Mrs E. C. Wood presiding. The balance sheet showed a credit of £1 Is lid. A number of last season’s players had left the district, but it was hoped to field a fairly strong team Officers elected for the . ear were: President, Mrs E. C. Wood; vice-presidents— Mesdamos C. Hanning, sen., A. Wilson, and W. K. George; secretary and treasurer. Miss M. Hanning; committee— Mesclames Anscombe, Edmonds, Caskie, Dickie, Miss Annan, Messrs Wood, Edmonds, Wilson, and Harris; delegates— Messrs W. K. George and P. D. Edmonds; coach, Mrs Caskie; grounds committee — Messrs Wood, Edmonds, Cyc, Harris, and M. Hanning. PERSONAL. A, very pleasant evening was hold in the Town Hall to-night, the occasion being a farewell social to Mr A. Andrews, of the local railway stall. Mr J. L. Davidson presided. The Alexandra and Cromwell railway staffs were well represented. Jlr Andrews has been a very efficient and courteous officer during his term in Clyde. The chairman presented him with a small token of esteem, and an enjoyable evening was spent. Mr Andrews has been transferred to the manager’s office in Dunedin, and will leave on Monday morning. FOOTBALL. The Clyde football team travelled to Bannockburn to-day to play a return match with the local team. The latter won by 15 points to 9. “BRING AND BUY” SALE. The Presbyterian Women’s Guild held a very successful " bring and buy ” sale in the church grounds on Thursday afternoon. The weather was on the cold side, but this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the ladies in charge of (ho various stalls, everything boin,i disposed of.
