DANUBIAN CONFERENCE

THE ROME DISCUSSIONS THREE POWERS CONCERNED. ROME, March 14. (Received March 15, at 5.5 p.m.) The three-Power Danubian conference opened with an effort by experts to coordinate the proposals of the participants —Signor Mussolini, Dr Dollfuss and M. Combos, who will meet to-morrow. It is understood that Dr Dollfuss is willing to exchange more Austrian machinery and industrial products for Italian wine and agricultural products, except wheat, which she is taking from Hungary. The conversations include the question of the use of Trieste and Fiume. It is proposed that Italy give Austria and Hungary preferential tariffs on all exports to Italy, and accord low railway rates to Hungary to enable her to send goods to Trieste and Fiume through Austria. Exceptional facilities for the use of these ports are being considered. The Pope received Dr Dollfuss in audience.

MUNITIONS FOR HUNGARY.

SUPPLIES FROM ITALY,

VIENNA, March 14. (Received March 15, at 5.5 p.m.)

Despite denials, there is strong support for the stories of Italian deliveries of arms and munitions to Hungary via Austria, and of great activity at Hirtcnberg, the Austrian munition centre, where hundreds of new employees are engaged.
