Young) for the unjustifiable criticism of him by the council,” was a motion carried at a meeting of the council of . the, Wellington Acclimatisation Society. Mr Nimmo, mover of the motion, rc* ferred to the Ministers refusal to meet a deputation from the society in connection with the returning of illegally-poisoned opossum skins, which had been connscated. “We as a council are in a veVy serious position,” said Air Nimmo.
