(Received March 14, at 11 p.m.) At the United States indoor lawn tennis championship in ' the third round Frank Bowden defeated Borotra, the defending champion, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2; Lott defeated Boussus, 5—7, 6-3 Eugene M'Auliffe defeated Beret, 6—4, 6—4; Merlin, the sole French survivor, defeated Berkeley Bell, 2—6, 6—3, 6—2.
