FINE OF £1 GO IMPOSED ? (Peb United Press AssqciatjqnO'HAWERA, March-14. Pleading .guilty to carrying on the business of' William- Elder, tea-rooms proprietor, was fined £IOO, in default three months' imprisonments He was also convicted and ordered to pay costs on a charge of keeping a common gaming house. Elder had been previously convicted on two charges., of assisting in keeping a gaming house. Three.men were found on the premises, when police raided them on March- 8. They .were fined £2 each.
