(J*CT Unitep Prbss Asaocunow*) *; ROTORUA, March: 14 Pleading guilty to' ft charge of failure to account for the sum of £lO4 16s 7d, the property of a Government department, a young man -was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court at Auckland by justices of the peace at the Rotdrua Court this morning, On the application of counsel an order was made suppressing the accused's name, and bail was granted in one recognisance and two sureties of £SO each. In giving evidence, the officer la charge of the department stated that tha accused was a good officer at the particular work, but he had been reprimanded for slackness in his bookkeeping methods* which might have accounted for the loss of the:tnqneyi On the deficiency being discovered" the accused had admitted the offence.'
