ANNUAL SUPPLIES AND SERVICES TENDERS ACCEPTED In accordance with the recommendations of the committees concerned, the City Council, at its fortnightly meeting last night accepted the following tenders for supplies and services for the year ending March 31, 1935: WORKS COMMITTEE. Motor Trucks and Drivers, North Division.—One ton and a-half class: Mr J. J. Brogan at 4s 6d per hour for goods and 4s 7d per hour for goods and passengers, provided the tenderer will give a guarantee to supply at least two trucks of this capacity if called upon to do so. This was the lower of two tenders received. Three-ton class: Mr J. J. Brogan at 5s 7d per hour for goods and 5s 8d per hour for goods and passengers, subject to the tenderer supplying the chassis manufacturer's specification giving the 'pay load" for which such trucks are designed. This wa s the lowest of three tenders received. Four-ton class: The New Zealand Express Company, Ltd., at 83 per hour for goods and 8s Id per hour for goods and passengers, subject to such trucks being required during the year. This was the only tender received. Fiveton class: The New Zealand Express Company. Ltd.. at 8s 9d per hour for goods and 8s lOd per hour for goods and passengers, subject to such trucks being required during the year. Four-ton class: The New Zealand Express Company, Ltd., at 8s per hour for goods- and 8s Id per hour for goods and passengers, subject to such trucks being required • during the year. Five-ton class: The New Zealand- Express Company, Ltd., at 8s 9d per hour for goods ,and 8s lOd per hour for goods and passengers, subject to such trucks being required during the year. Fraser at 5s per hour, subject to the makers' or their agents' guarantee regarding designed "pay load" of such trucks being supplied. This was the lowest of three tenders received. (All the tenders in this section were recommended for acceptance on condition that, in the event of shifts being worked, ordinary rates for the truck hire as quoted would be paid.) Horses, Carts, and Drivers for Anderson's Bay District. —Messrs Dun-ford Bros: Single team and driver, 2s 3d per hour; - double team and driver, 3s per hour; each leading horse, 6d per hour. This was the only tender received. Ltd.: Cement. 5 3 5d per- bag, £4 17s 6d per ton; shell lime, 4s 6d per bag (£3 7s 6d); hydraulic lime, 4s per bag (£4); hydrate of lime, 2s 3d (£4 10s). This was the only tender received. Supply and Delivery of Bituminous Coal.—Bruce Coal Company, Ltd.: Newcastle coal (to Ward street, Baths or Gardens), 47s 6d per ton; Westport coal (to Ward street. Baths, or Gardens). 49s 6d per ton. This was the lowest of three tenders received. _' ' Supply and Delivery of Sand—Delivery by railway, Jubilee Coal Company, Ltd.: Unscreened 7s 7d per cubic yard, screened 8s 4d per cubic yard. Subject to such delivery being required during the year. Delivery at depots: Mr A. Ramsay, 89 3d per cubic yard and 8s 9d per cubic yard. WATER DEPARTMENT. Supply of Trucks and Drivers.—Tilbury Forwarding Company, Ltd., for the following: li ton trucks for goods and passengers, 4s 3d per hour; 3-ton trucks for goods and passengers, 5s 6d per hour; 4-ton trucks for goods and passengers, 6s 6d per hours. The New Zealand Express Company Ltd., for the following: 5-ton trucks for goods only, 8s 9d per hour; 5-ton trucks for goods and passengers, 8 S lOd per hour. (This acceptance to be subject to _ the proviso that no guarantee can be given that trucks of 5-ton capacity may be required during the year.) Tenders for the supply of 2|-ton trucks in all contracts were referred back to the committees for further consideration.
