GIRL WHO CANNOT KNIT
An exceptionally accomplished girl at Tamworth, near Birmingham, has one failing. She confesses she is liable to acquire the art of knitting. By producing her own plays, Miss Elizabeth Weale, the 21-year-old daughter of the Mayor and Mayoress of Tamworth, has raised over £3OO for local charities in a year. She is to publish her third novel in the spring. Miss Weale gives elocution recitals, she paints in oils, she plays the piano. She designs the dresses for her plays—• 270 of them in the last production. She can speak French and Italian. But she cannot knit.
