Spain’s superficial quiet was broken by several incidents. Policemen replaced the striking newsboys and sold the Official Gazette at the street corners. It was the only paper published. Entertainments and transport were normal, except for the stoning of a few trams. Armed strikers looted a country store. Youths damaged the Catholic College, but Civic Guards frustrated attempts to burn it. Segovia and Malaga are the only towns where the strike is complete.

The Provincial Governor suspended the police chief, and the Civil Guards arc maintaining 'order. A bomb was exploded and injured several in a house at Tarrasa which was occupied by a brother of a recently assassinated textile manager.
