Indications are for northerly winds at first north, of Westport and Cape Campbell, but a temporary change to the south-west advancing rapidly from the south; strong and squally generally and in places reaching gale force; but later moderating. The Shaw, Savlll, and Albion Company’s liner lonic left Wellington on Wednesday morning for Southampton and London, via the Panama canal.

CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA. The Karetu is to leave Newcastle about March 15 for Sydney and Melbourne to complete loading for Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland in that order. She should clear Melbourne about March 20. MAORI'S OVERHAUL. Preparatory to re-entering the Lyttelton ferry service during the winter moriths, the Maori is undergoing overhaul at Wellington. She will make her first run in the service on April 5. PORT MELBOURNE AT LONDON. The C. and D. Line’s Port Melbourne, which sailed from Wellington on January 22, arrived at London on March 4; THE CITY OF BEDFORD. The City of Bedford will load at New York, leaving on April 25 for Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on May 28. TEKOA TO LOAD. The Tekoa arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Wellington to continue loading. She will complete at Timarii, Bluff, and Port Chalmers, and is to sail from this port on March 21 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow. ZEALANDIC CLEARS COLON. The ZcalandJc, which left Lyttelton on February 13 for London, Liverpool, and Glasgow, via Panama, sailed from Colon on the afternoon of March 5. RANGITATA LEAVES LONDON. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rangitata left London on Thursday for New Zealand ports. She Is due at Auckland on April 8. CANADIAN CHALLENGER. The Canadian Challenger is duo to arrive at Dunedin on March 23 or 24 from Australian ports to discharge and load general cargo. She Is expected to sal! on March 20 for Timaru and Lyttelton to complete loading, sailing finally from the latter port for Now York, Boston, and Montreal. THE CANADIAN HIGHLANDER. The Canadian Highlander, which left Halifax on February 21 for Australia and New Zealand Is due at Dunedin on April 18. She will proceed to Lyttelton, where she Is duo on April 23, and will leave there for New York, Boston, and Montreal. FORDSDALE AT LONDON. The Shaw, Savlll, and Albion Company advise that the Fordsdalo, which sailed from Auckland on January 27 for London and west coast of United Kingdom ports, via the Panama canal, arrived at London on March 4. CANADIAN CONQUEROR LEAVES HALIFAX. The Canadian Conqueror left Halifax on March 4, en route for New Zealand and Australia. She is due at Auckland on May 10, and will also discharge at Wellington before proceeding to Australia to complete for New York, Boston, and Montreal. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr W. N. Aimers has rejoined the Tamahino as chief officer after holiday leave. Mr H. W. Insley has transferred to the Wahino from the Makura as third engineer, and Mr U. G White lias rejoined the Makura as third engineer after holidays. Mr V. Standring, late second engineer of the Wahino, is now- on the Maori supervising that ship's overhaul. Mr W S.
