On the top of a mountain in Mexico. 14,000 ft above sea level, two explorers recently found several idols, bitg of pottery and other clay pieces, giving evidence that this lofty eminence was once the site of an ancient Indian temple. This is believed to be the highest point in. North America where Indians once worshipped. At one time, it is believed, there was a shrine on top of the mountain to which Indians went to offer gifts to the “ God of the Mountain ” when desiring rain and good crops. The Indians to-day, however, believe the top of this mountain is inhabiited by an evil spirit, which drops rocks on daring climbers.
