FREE STATE BILL
WEARING OF BLUE SHIRTS FIRST READING CARRIED. LONDON, February 24. (Received Feb. 25, at 8.30 p.m.) The Dail read the first time, by 05 votes to 40, the Blueshirt Bill, which Mr Ruttledge stated aimed at ending the evils due to the militarisation of politics and the preservation of peace.
i General O’Duffy says the Bill is not surprising as the United Ireland Party’s influx of members was making Mr de Valera desperate because it was undermining him in the electorate.
