INTEREST ON LOANS
GERMANY UNABLE TO PAY , DR SCHACHT’S DECLARATION. BERLIN, December 12. • (Received Dee. 13, at 5.5 p.m.) Dr Schacht, addressing German Chambers of Commerce in Switzerland, declared that Germany would never again be able to pay the, former interest on foreign loans. She repaid £700,000 in interest and capital during the past three years, and such bleeding was immoral and economically senseless. Her transfer agreement of July was the fairest possible. Creditors must help debtors to rescue the world from the crisis.
