PICNIC AT TAHUNA PARK

A meeting of the St. Kilda Christmas Cheer Committee was held last evening to make final arrangements for the picnic which will take place at Tahuna Park on Saturday. The Deputy-Mayor of St Kilda (Mr A. D. Edgar) presided over a full attendance of members. It was agreed that all children should be at the Park at 1.30 p.m. to greet Father Christmas, who would arrive, drawn by Thomson’s ponies, at 2.15 p.m. The Forbury School Band would lead the procession from the St. Kilda Town Hall and render selections on the ground. It. was reported that the town clerk’s orchestra had also consented to render a programme of music and the Bristol Piano Company had loaned the committee a piano for the occasion. It was stated that every child would be required to bring'a mug and spoon and also to have a ticket, to be shown when obtaihing a soft drink, ice-cream and tea, and to give to Father Christmas, who would then present each with a toy* •
