ARGENTINE DECREE
PRICES OF PRODUCTS RAISED BUENOS AIRES, November 29. The Argentine Government, by decree, has fixed the price of wheat at 62 cents per bushel, corn at 44, and flax at 115 on a basis of United States currency. The decree raised prices from 11 to 16 per cent, over the previous level. It also creates a Grain Regulation Board to purchase money drafts from exporters and send them to firms needing foreign exchange by a virtual auction sustem, the Government anticipating that this system will defray the expenses of the grain subsidy, leaving the Government a net profit. The Finance Minister (Senor de Pinedo) announced that the Government was partially abandoning its control of monetary exchange in a move toward the re-establishment of a free exchange market, which has been non-existent since November 26. 1931.
