Tree (Conservative) .. .. 19,320 —.- Bennett (Labour) .. .. 12,430 —, Wilson (Liberal) .. .. 6.144 At the general election the voting was as follows: —Lord Castlestewart (Con.), 29,790; Major F. J. Wise (Lab.), 14,453.
