MILITARY CARNIVAL
' A week ago the builders finished work' on the Artillery N.C.O.’s new pluh room 1 at Central Battery. ... That night the whole place was burnt down, not-,a thing being saved. Instead’of lamenting their hard luck the n.c.o.’s, in conjunction with the Artillery Band, now intend running a carnival to raise funds for-a.new club room. It commences; next'-Wednes- 1 day night, (Show night) and ’continues every night and on both Saturday after- i noons, to December 2. No effort is being spared to give the public a good 'show. ; Night attacks, air raids, attacks on enemy . trenches, and incidents from the Boer and Maori wars are some of the spectacular displays that have been arranged, i In addition there are roll downs and games in profusion, some of them Entirely new and novel. Alhgahies will he under cover and wet weather will not affect the running of the carnival,
