MINIATURE RIFLE NOTES
DUNEDIN RETURNED SOLDIERS’ CLUB. On Monday evening the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Miniature Rifle Club fired the last club shoot for the season. This took the form of a Consolation Match for trophies donated by Mr A. J. Gordon (president of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association), and Mr D. Marr (club captain). Nine members participated in the , match which was fii’ed under self-handicap conditions. The scores were as follows;—' Self-
* Prize winners. S. Harvey and H. White required to shoot off for second place. H. White put on a good shoot for 39 off the rifle, but his handicap robbed him of a place. The best score of the mkteh, off the rifle, was obtained by D. H. Rowntree (club president), with a 78. His self handicap of four was, however, too generous. The president’s button was_ his reward. At a meeting to? be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening next, during the visit of the general secretary of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association to this city, the opportunity- will be taken, through arrangements made with the Executive Committee of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association, for the presentation of some of the trophy cups to the successful marksmen. • These trophies will be the club championship cup, which goes to Mr D. Marr, club champion for 1933, the Dawson Handicap cup, which goes to Mr O. L. Holden, the Don M‘Kay Self-handicap cup, won by Mr O. L. Holden, the President’s Handicap Match trophy, won by T. Menzies, and the Consolation Self-handicap Match trophy, won by N. Nickels. These members are asked to be present early and to report to the chib secretary. It was the intention of the committee to complete the entire prize list and present all prizes won during the season, but time, however, doffs not permit this. These will be presented at a club function later.
