ADMIRALTY BROADCAST

POTENTIAL LISTENERS INSTRUCTIONS IN MORSE. LONDON, November 7. In drawing attention to a reader’s account of how he heard the broadcasting of Admiralty instructions, the Daily 'Mail points out that the instructions related to the Mediterranean and Near Mediterranean Fleets, and warships in the Levant, the Red Sea, and the Persian Gulf. The instructions appeared to be highly confidential, and yet were broadcast in Morse on a short wave-length, within range ,of thousands of sets in Britain and other countries. The broadcast mentioned that certain stations would be closed on a particular date, and gave details of what stations would keep watch on given wave-lengths. “In point of fact,” it is declared, “a complete survey of the whole organisation of Admiralty communications with ships in Eastern waters was broadcast to the world.”
