SIAMESE TROOPS
A RISING REPORTED MARTIAL LAW PROCLAIMED. SINGAPORE, October 12. A rising occurred among the troops in Eastern Siam, who have captured the Donmuang aerodrome, which is a regular landing stage for air services. Thirteen kilometres from Bangkok the rebel troops encountered the Government forces from the capital. Firing occurred. No details are available. Martial law has been proclaimed. Their Majesties are staying at the seaside. Armed guards have been placed at the legations and foreign banks. The population of Bangkok is quiet. The Siamese Consul at Singapore expects the Government to restore order in two or three days.
