INTERISLAND FOOTBALL
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,— The two letters from Oamaru with reference to the inclusion of Granger in the South Island team are_ very amusing. No letters appeared in Dunedin papers about Granger being selected as full-back for the South Island; in fact, we were all pleased down here to see an Otago man, aS Oamaru is in Otago, get a place in the team. _ There was no comment in the Otago Daily Times on the Thursday following the Otago v. North Otago match, and the report on the Monday—“ Grainger was not impressive ” was very fair, as 10 tries were scored against him. He had a good forward pack in front of him in the South Island match, beating, ns they did, the North Island. The grievances of the two Oamaru correspondents are only imaginary. Why did they not write after the Otago match? Grainger was accorded a good reception here by the crowd at Carisbrook. —I am, etc., Otago.
