THE TEXAS HURRICANE
RICH VALLEY DEVASTATED FRUITGROWERS LOSE HEAVILY. NEW YORK, September 6. A message from Edinburgh (Texas) states that 32 dead, 1500 injured, nnd damage amounting to millions of dollars is the known toll of the tropical hurricane which devastated the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas, one of the richest agricultural areas in the United States, on Monday night . and Tuesday. The citrus growers are the heaviest losnrs, some 90 per cent, of the 12,000,000 doilar crop being blown from the trees. TOTAL OF EIGHTEEN DEATHS. NEW YORK, September 6. The deaths in Edinburgh (Texas) were reduced to 18 i hen the re-establishment of communication with Brownsville revealed that there were no fatalities there.
