PALMERSTON NOTES

(From Our Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON, Septrnibcr 7. HOSPITAL COMMITTEE. Mr H. S. Sheat presided over a meeting of the Palmerston Hospital Committee last night. The resignation of Mrs R. Cowan from the committee was accepted with regret. It was decided to send her a letter thanking her for her valuable service while on the committee. The report of Nurse dimming was received as follows: —June —patients admitted 4, discharged 3, remaining 2; July—patients admitted 3, discharged 5; August—patients admitted 3, discharged 3. Patients at present in hospital 2. An account for £2 Is was passed for payment. The Visiting Committee (Mrs Forrest and Mr W. C Arkle) reported the grounds in perfect order and the interior spotlessly clean. Mrs W. J. M'Kenney, sen., and Mr H. S. Sheat were appointed a Visiting Committee for the ensuing term. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the committee was then held. The retiring chairman thanked the committee and especially the secretary (Mrs W. B. Galloway) for their assistance during the year. Things had run very smoothly. . Mr H. S. Sheat was re-elected chairman, many complimentary remarks being passed both to him and the secretary. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr Jack M'Ritchic, those present standing in silence.
