TALBOYS HOME ENTERTAINMENT
A concert was conducted under the auspices of the Dunedin Housewives’ Union at the Talboys Home last Saturday evening, the feature of the entertainment being a community “ sing,” in which the old folk joined. Several of the successful competitors in the recent Dunedin Competitions festival contributed items which were much appreciated by the inmates.—At the conclusion of the concert a small bag of sweets, provided by Messrs Wolfendcn and Russell, was given to each of the old people. During the concert Mr Sutherland, principal of the home, thanked the ladies of the Housewives’ Union for organising the concert. The following are the performers who contributed items:—Song in character, Miss M‘Kay; duet, Misses Pat Johnston and Maud Stewart; action songs, Misses Sadie Newstub and Jean Colder; vocal items—Misses Hargreaves, Belcher, Leckie, Mrs Walton, and Messrs Lee and M‘Kay; elocutionary items— Misses Leckie, M'Laugblin, Mrs Herbert, Masters Bobbie Whale and Glen Herbert.
