WANDERING STOCK

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I would like very much to know what rangers are kept for. I had several trips by motor up from Henley to Berwick, and I counted 26 head of cattle. 1 had to get out of the car and clear the road. If this goes on much longer I can plainly see the likelihood of serious accidents, especially at night. My comrades and I have been at socials and dances in the hall in Berwick, and in the locality you are wading ankle deep in the manure. I don't know what the people are thinking about to let that go on; they have no respect for their street. I have heard that owners of this stock have acres of ground, but just let them run loose. The ranger should camp on the roadside.—l am, etc., Southern Cross.
