SENTENCED IN FIJI
STOKER FROM THE LABURNUM SUVA, September 5. (Received Sept, 5, at 11.15 p.m.) Eric Hocks, a stoker from the warship Laburnum, was sentenced in the Fiji Supreme Court to three years' penal servitude for indecently assaulting a male at Tarawa, Gilbert Islands. William Cheyne, a cook, and Ivor Sampson, a seaman and gunner, was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment for gross indecency.
