WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP MISS KAY IN SEMI-FINALS (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, September 5. Kay (New Zealand) defeated Miss B. Nankivell, 3 and 1. Miss B. Perry (Tasmania) defeated Miss B. Gaisford (New Zealand) 1 up. Miss J. Hood Hammond (New South Wales) defeated Miss O. Lefebvre (New South Wales) 3 and 2. A surprise result was the defeat of Miss Gaisford, the New Zealand stylist. Before her game against Miss Kernot the popular New Zealand player, Mrs Dodgshun, received a cable message informing her of the serious illness of her husband. Miss O. Kay played magnificently, her only weakness being a typical New Zealand fault in emerging from sandpits. Miss Hammond's defeat of Miss Lefebvre was a surprise. Although she played excellent golf there were many comments passed by good judges over the time taken for her shots. In the semi-finals the draw for tomorrow is as follows:—Miss Kernot v. Miss Kay, Miss Perry v. Miss Hammond. MEN'S TOURNAMENT. THE FOURSOMES TITLE. MELBOURNE, September 5. (Received Sept. 6, at 0.5, a.m.) ■ The amateur foursome . championship was won by C. H.
