THE WEATHER
The weather was fine in Dunedin on Saturday, with considerable cloud and occasional periods of sunshine. A cold south-west wind was blowing. The barometer rose several points, and registered 30.20 in on Saturday night. Yesterday was dull in the morning, but the sun shone brightly later. The south-west breeze continued and the barometer fell during the afternoon but commenced to rise again in the evening, when the reading was SO.BOin.
REPORTS FROM NORTHERN CENTRES. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, August <5. Fine weather prevailed during the week-end, but a light southerly wind made the conditions very cold. Saturday was clear and sunny, but the sky wa» dull and cloudy to-day. The barometer has risen to 30.10 in. GISBORNE, August 5. Snow fell on the high country during a boisterous night. Tiniroto reports three inches of snow. CHRISTCHURCH, August 6. A cold south-westerly wind was blowing yesterday morning, with occasional showers of rain. There was bright sunshine in the afternoon, but the wind was still cold. To-day was warm and sunny, with a light southerly wind.
