NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. (Pee United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 3. The Council of the New Zealand Ama* teur Swimming Association decided tonight to allot the 1934 New Zealand championships to Canterbury._ The junior and intermediate championships for 1934 were allotted to Manawatu. A letter from the British Empir* Games Council contained an offer for the representation of New Zealand. at the next Empire Games. The council would pay £IOOO towards the steamer fares and the accommodation of the New Zealand team. —It was decided to circularise centres advising the contents of the letter, but expressing the opinion that no swimmers would be sent as none was considered of international standard.
